Professional Background

In 1987, Dr. Sandberg graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina. He completed his residency and fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine in 1992. After fellowship, he continued working at Baylor College of Medicine as assistant professor until joining Kelsey-Seybold in 1995.

Professional Associations

Dr. Sandberg is on the Board of Directors of the Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society and an officer with the Greater Houston Allergy Asthma and Immunology Society.

Hobbies and Interests

As a mathematics major, Dr. Sandberg spent three years after graduation teaching high school math in Benin, West Africa with the Peace Corps. That background allows him to occasionally understand how to solve the random high school math homework problems that one of his daughters might show him.

I believe both the patient and doctor need to communicate about the basic mechanisms behind the medical problems that we face. A deeper understanding often allows a more productive discussion of options and provides the motivation for applying treatments in the most effective manner.
