Daron Moreno, PA-C, is an Orthopedics Physician Assistant at the Berthelsen Main Campus, Ambulatory Surgery Center at Main Campus, and the Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center. Daron earned his undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering in 2004 at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Following graduation from West Point, Daron earned his Ranger Tab (worn by elite soldiers who have passed the U.S. Army Ranger School) and served eight years as an Infantry officer in the United States Army. He served in multiple leadership roles including Platoon Leader and Company Commander. After eight years of active duty that included three combat deployments, he left to pursue a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Daron graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 2017.
 
In his final year and a half at Baylor College of Medicine, Daron’s clinical clerkships gave him the opportunity to care for patients in the Greater Houston area. His clerkships included Ben Taub General Hospital, where he trained with a General Surgery team with an emphasis on Oncology and Emergency Medicine; Harris Health Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he trained at multiple public clinics; Lonestar Children’s Clinic, where he trained in Pediatric outpatient care; and Texas Children’s Hospital, where he trained in pediatric inpatient care, specifically pediatric Pulmonology and Level I newborn care. He also trained in outpatient Geriatrics, Psychiatry, and Internal Medicine inpatient care at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center, as well as Internal Medicine outpatient care at Medical Associates of Houston at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Daron joined Kelsey-Seybold in March 2018. He assists Orthopedic Surgeon Anup Shah, M.D., at the Berthelsen Main Campus, Ambulatory Surgery Center at Main Campus, and the Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center.

Daron is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, 1st Cavalry Division Association, and the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division.

Hobbie​​s and Interests

Daron enjoys doing Crossfit, playing golf, and barbecuing. He’s a Houston Astros, Rockets, and Texans fan.

Fun Facts​

As a child, Daron wanted to be a professional baseball player because he loved playing baseball and going to Astros games.
His guilty pleasure is listening to 80s music.
