Hobbies and Interests

When not caring for patients, Austin enjoys spending time with his wife and six children. He stays active playing sports and recently began long distance running. He also enjoys cooking and gardening. Austin has been a percussionist for many years and recently began learning to play the guitar and the piano. He has said that his father was his role model, because he taught Austin the importance of being kind, thoughtful and always being willing to serve others.

I feel that the best patient care that can be delivered is empathy based. I try to ask myself how I would feel if I were sitting on the examination table. This process allows me to become connected to the patient and to deliver effective healthcare. I would never want a patient to feel that I don’t try to understand how they feel.
