KelseyCare Expands Telemedicine Services for Health Plan Members

Telemedicine Video and E-visits Now Treat Up to 50 Medical Conditions Remotely at the Patient’s Discretion and Convenience

Houston (June 4, 2018) – Following the resounding success of KelseyCare Telemedicine Services in 2017, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is now growing Video Visits and E-visits with expanded hours, specialties, and treatable conditions.

E-visits are medical visits conducted through a secure electronic exchange, and Video Visits are medical visits conducted through a secure, live video exchange. Telemedicine is delivered to patients by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic providers who have access to the patient's medical records and can send secure updates to the patient's primary care physician. Patients can engage in   E-visits and Video Visits from almost anywhere in the world as long as they have access to Wi-Fi or an LTE connection.

"In the last year, and particularly in the fall during the 2017 cold and flu season, our Telemedicine practice saw exponential growth. Our telemedicine providers offered medical advice and treatment options to more than 3,000 patients who were treated virtually during the cold and flu season," said Donnie Aga, M.D., Medical Director for Healthcare Innovation, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. "That momentum has served to accelerate the expansion of our availability in serving patients 365 days a year, as well as grow the number of specialties and conditions that we can treat virtually through Video Visits and E-visits."

Kelsey-Seybold's two Telemedicine options are similar in that they offer patients remote access to a board-certified Kelsey-Seybold Clinic provider, but differ in execution:
