Senior Health Fair Draws Hundreds to Kelsey-Seybold
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic celebrated 60 years of caring for Houstonians by inviting local seniors to join us for our Senior Expo, a day of celebration, good health and great people.
Almost 300 seniors attended the Sept. 26 event, held at our Main Campus at 2727 West Holcombe Blvd. from 8 a.m. to noon. Attendees received free pedometers.
In addition, event-goers were able to take advantage of free health checks, informational booths, food and hourly lectures provided by Kelsey-Seybold physicians and KelseyCare Advantage staff. The Kelsey-Seybold Wellness team provided cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure screenings, along with individual consultations.
The lecture room was packed with people eager to listen to the presenters’ topics. Dr. Glenn Landon, Chief of Orthopedic Surgery, discussed the innovations in hip replacement to a full-house. Audience members especially enjoyed viewing the various forms of hip replacement over the years, which Dr. Landon passed around the room for closer examination by the attendees.
Various information booths, including the popular Mighty Colon, a guided walk-through inflatable exhibit that allows patients to walk see common conditions that occur in the colon, were featured attractions.
