Kelsey-Seybold Doctor Receives High Honor from HCAFP
HOUSTON (July 1, 2009) - Patrick M. Carter, MD, MBA has been named the 2009 Harris County Family Physician of the Year by the Harris County Academy of Family Physicians.
“Dr. Carter is committed to both the local and state Academy, as well as issues that impact the medical community. Also, he is devoted to sustaining the quality of care provided by family physicians, as evident through his work with residents at Baylor and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic,” the HCAFP comments.
He has been practicing with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 1994, and is currently Chair of the Department of Family Medicine as well as Medical Director for Care Coordination and Quality Improvement at Kelsey-Seybold. Dr. Carter is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and his specialties include Family Medicine and Geriatrics. He received his undergraduate degrees in honors biology and chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and attended medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Carter also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University.
