Women’s Health Day Offers Downtown Lunch Crowd Free Health Screenings
On Friday May 8, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic held Women’s Health Day at The Shops at Houston Center as part of a month-long women’s health awareness campaign. The campaign is aimed at giving women the knowledge they need to steer their health in the right direction.
Women who attended the free lunchtime event received a health checkup that included blood pressure screenings, and height, weight and body mass index measurements. In addition, women had their skin health analyzed with a facial skin scope.
Special guests included Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Houston Center physicians Dr. Alfreda Bell, a Family Medicine specialist, and Dr. Devanshi Dhanji, an Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist, who were on hand during Women’s Health Day to answer feminine health-related questions at the Ask the Doctor booth.
Dedicated to the study of medical issues concerning women’s health, The Women’s Fund was also onsite to hand out informative materials and answer questions about their organization.
Downtown visitors and employees who missed the recent Heart Health Day event can still check up on their heart health by visiting the “Know Your Number” wellness stations. Located at tunnel level under First City Tower, the City of Houston and the Houston Chronicle buildings, visitors can check their blood pressure, body mass index, weight, heart rate and pulse-oxygen levels for free.
