It’s Women’s Health Month, and in celebration, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s Healthy Living Webinar series is presenting “A Woman’s Wellness: Live Healthy, Live Happy, Live Longer.”
Family Medicine Resident Dr. Isabel Garcia will present the May 1 Webinar and will discuss topics such as breast cancer, cervical cancer and osteoporosis. In addition, she will highlight key methods of prevention and provide tips on how even the simplest steps can lead the way to a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Guests are also invited to listen and e-mail their questions to the presenter. Dr. Garcia will answer questions following her presentation.

WHY:
|
If women properly care for themselves and know how to spot certain symptoms, many female gender-related cases can be treated, or even prevented.
- Cases of breast cancer have increased, but deaths are decreasing because of early detection and treatment.
- Some studies show a decrease in hip fractures, possibly due to a healthier aging population, increased body weight, and the use of vitamins and medications that decrease bone loss.

About Dr. Isabel Garcia
Isabel T. Garcia, M.D. is a resident with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic through the Family Medicine program at Baylor College of Medicine. She will complete her training in June 2009. She pursued her undergraduate degree in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin and completed her medical training at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Garcia’s clinical interests include women’s health and preventative care.
