There are two ways to get the vaccine: during a routine scheduled visit with your Kelsey-Seybold physician, or during a nurse-only appointment.
Saturday nurse-only appointments are available at three regional clinic locations, including the Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center in North Houston, Clear Lake Clinic on Gemini and West Clinic near the Galleria. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call Kelsey-Seybold’s 24/7 Contact Center at 713-442-0000 to schedule an appointment.
Weekday appointments are available at all 20 Kelsey-Seybold Clinic locations either during a routine scheduled visit, or during a nurse-only appointment. Call 713-442-0000 to schedule an appointment.
Melanie Mouzoon, M.D., a board-certified pediatrician and Managing Physician for Immunization Practices at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, stresses the importance of getting the flu vaccine soon after it becomes available each year. “Vaccine administered now helps protect against influenza, even into late spring,” she notes. Flu activity most commonly peaks in the U.S. in January or February. However, seasonal flu activity can occur as late as May.
"This month is a good time to schedule flu vaccinations for the entire family,” says Dr. Mouzoon. “Remember, the CDC is recommending flu vaccinations for almost everyone this year. So get your yearly vaccination early and arm yourself for the upcoming flu season.”
