Biography “I believe in being an advocate for my patients, and in the process, bringing them the latest knowledge and technology that will help them manage their gastrointestinal problems.”
Ned Snyder, III, M.D., Chief of Gastroenterology, joined Kelsey-Seybold in September 2009. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and cares for his patients at Kelsey-Seybold's Main Campus and Shadow Creek Ranch locations.
In 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, Dr. Snyder was nominated as a Texas Monthly “Texas Super Doctor.” He also has been named to “Best Doctors in America 2009-2010 and 2011-2012.” In 2006, he received the Laureate Award, the highest honor from the Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians.
Professional Background After earning his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1966, Dr. Snyder went to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) to earn his degree in medicine, which he completed in 1970.
He attended The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to complete his internship, and returned to UTMB for his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Snyder returned to Yale in 1974 as a post-doctoral fellow in Internal Medicine at the university’s medical school and served in a Hepatology fellowship.
Academic and Clinical Position Dr. Snyder came to Kelsey-Seybold Clinic from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he served as Chief of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Professor of Medicine. At UTMB, he also served as Vice Chairman of Internal Medicine and Director of Outpatient Clinics.
He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Snyder accepted the position as Chief of Gastroenterology at Kelsey-Seybold in 2009.
Clinical Interests Dr. Snyder's numerous research efforts have dealt primarily with clinical studies and biomarkers in patients with liver disease.
