Madhuri Chilakapati, M.D. joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in September 2006. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and cares for her patients at our Main Campus, Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center, and Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center locations.
Professional Background
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brown University, Dr. Chilakapati attended The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. She graduated in 2000 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Chilakapati completed her training in ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and then pursued a fellowship dedicated to pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Chilakapati’s clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology, including visual development in children, amblyopia, medical and surgical management of strabismus (crossed or wandering eyes) and tear duct obstructions.
Publications
Dr. Chilakapati has authored and contributed to articles and book chapters on a variety of topics including strabismus, pediatric eye infections, and the preparation of patients for surgery.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Chilakapati enjoys spending time with her family and friends especially her young daughter. You can find them around town biking, practicing yoga, exploring museums and just having fun!
