Biography “I want my patients to enjoy healthy and happy lives with the fewest possible compromises. To achieve this, I pay careful attention to the specific needs of each person that comes into my care. I believe in creating a collaborative atmosphere where patients are encouraged to ask questions, and in return, given easy-to-understand explanations of their condition and treatment options.”
Jonathan Aliota, M.D. joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in August 2010. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Aliota cares for his patients at Kelsey-Seybold’s West Clinic and Cinco Ranch Clinic.
Professional Background After receiving a Bachelors of Arts degree with a major in biology from Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin, Dr. Aliota earned his master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Tulane University Graduate School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He completed his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine/Charity Hospital, where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine and served as chief resident.
In 2006, Dr. Aliota transferred to the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, where he completed both his general cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship having served as chief general cardiology fellow and chief interventional fellow during his tenure.
Awards and Recognitions  Dr. Aliota has been recognized for providing outstanding cardiovascular and stroke care by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) Heart/Stroke Recognition Program. Recognition through the Heart/Stroke Recognition program is achieved as the result of a comprehensive, individualized review process that verifies a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients with cardiovascular disease or who have had a stroke. Academic and Clinical Position Dr. Aliota is an Interventional Cardiology attending with the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine.
Clinical Interests Dr. Aliota’s clinical interests include general cardiology, coronary artery disease, and a special focus on peripheral artery disease and treatment including: lower extremity therapies, endovascular aneurysm repair and carotid artery stenting.
