Biography “The word ‘doctor’ derives from the latin verb ‘to teach.' Patients tend to have better success with their health if I can help them understand what their problems are and how medical care can offer them solutions.”
James Lewis, M.D., is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician. He joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in 1999 and cares for patients at Kelsey-Seybold’s Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center.
Professional Background
Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1973, and completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at BCM in 1976.
Awards and Recognitions Dr. Aga has been recognized with a prestigious national certification for excellence in caring for diabetic patients, awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Certification through NCQA’s national Diabetes Recognition Program comes after a comprehensive, individualized review process to verify a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Lewis is on the Medical Executive Committee for St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital. He is also the manager of the Internal Medicine Hospitalist Group for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.
