Dr. Sidiq joined Kelsey-Seybold in July 2009. He cares for his patients at the Main Campus and Kingwood locations. Dr. Sidiq speaks English, Urdu and Medical Spanish.
Professional Background
Dr. Sidiq graduated from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Medicine. In 1993, he completed his internship at the university.
In 1997, Dr. Sidiq completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. From 1997 to 2005, he cared for patients at Brownsville Community Health Center in Brownsville, Texas as a primary care physician and served as adult section chief. During that time, he also worked at Valley Regional Medical Center where he served as chief of medicine.
While there, he was a member of the Credentials and Ethics Committee at Valley Regional Medical Center and Peer Review Committee at Brownsville Community Health Center.
After eight years of practicing Internal Medicine in Brownsville, Dr. Sidiq came to Houston in 2005 to continue his medical training a with a Hepatology fellowship at St. Luke’s Center for Liver Disease. From 2006 to 2009, he held a Gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Sidiq is interested in all aspects of Gastroenterology and liver disease. During his Hepatology fellowship, he was a sub-investigator in various trials at St. Luke’s Center for Liver Disease.
Faculty Appointments
From March 2004 to July 2005, Dr. Sidiq worked at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Regional Academy Health Center. From 2000 to July 2005, he was a Volunteer Preceptor for the General Internal Medicine Statewide Preceptorship Program through the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.
Honors and Awards
The Texas Medical Foundation recognized Dr. Sidiq as a top 10 physician out of 1,200 for his “Best Practices Approach.” In addition, he was recognized for his participation in ambulatory teaching by the Community Based Teaching Program of the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.
