In-Office Procedures

In-Office Procedures Require Little to No Recovery Time
Our Fort Bend OB/GYN physicians use in-office, minimally invasive techniques for a variety of gynecologic and urogynecologic conditions. These include abdominal bleeding, fibroids, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, urinary incontinence and menopause symptoms. The following in-office procedures are provided by one or more or our physicians (please check with the physician regarding your specific needs):

  • Essure®: A surgery-free, hormone-free permanent birth control procedure that works with your body to create a natural barrier to prevent pregnancy. And it takes less than 10 minutes to perform. Learn more.
  • Endometrial ablation: A minimally-invasive procedure that removes the endometrial lining of the uterus of pre-menopausal or peri-menopausal women done with childbearing to manage unusually heavy or long-lasting menstrual periods (also referred to as menorrhagia).
  • Colposcopy: A minor procedure performed when Pap test results indicate abnormalities that may lead to a more serious condition. A colposcopy provides additional information about abnormal changes in the cervix and can be used to assess problems such as abnormal bleeding, cervical polyps and cervicitis (inflammation of the cervix).
  • LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure):  A safe method under local anesthetic where the doctor uses a thin wire loop carrying a small electrical current to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix, called dysplasia, which might otherwise progress to cancer.
  • Diagnostic hysteroscopy: A procedure that’s used to diagnose and remove uterine polyps through the use of a thin, flexible, lighted telescope (hysteroscope) inserted into the uterus.
