Have you made your child’s first appointment?
It is important that your child see a pediatrician 2 to 14 days after delivery. If your child’s skin has a yellowish appearance, or if you child seems feverish or ill, call your pediatrician’s office right away.
Have you made your doctor’s appointment?
It is important to see your doctor:
2 to 4 weeks after delivery if you had a cesarean section.
4 to 6 weeks after delivery if you had a vaginal delivery.
6 to 8 weeks after delivery for a glucose tolerance test if you were diagnosed with diabetes during pregnancy.
When you schedule your doctor visit, don’t forget to ask about:
Appropriate method of contraception.
Release to go back to work.
Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork, if applicable.
Have you had your infant car seat inspected?
You should have your infant’s car seat inspected one month before your due date.

Have you added your baby to your insurance?
Please remember that you only have 30 days from the date of birth to add your baby to your insurance policy.
