Clinical breast exams are also very important in early the detection of breast cancer. Women ages 18 to 39 should have a clinical breast exam every one to three years and women ages 40-plus should have one yearly. Starting from the age of 18, women should conduct a breast self-exam on a monthly basis and report any abnormalities to their physician.
