MEET THE DOCTOR

Victor Simms, M.D. joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in 2001. He cares for patients at our Pasadena Clinic, where he also serves as Managing Physician. Dr. Simms is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Professional Background
Dr. Simms graduated from Baylor College of Medicine’s medical school in1996. Following his doctorate, he completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor. He continued his education at the school with a fellowship in Primary Care Research. In addition, he holds a Master’s Degree from The University of Texas in Public Health.
Academic and Clinical Position
Dr. Simms now teaches future doctors at his alma mater and serves as clinical instructor with volunteer faculty at Baylor College of Medicine.
Clinical Interests
“Hypertension in African Americans is an area of interest and one in which I have done a small amount of clinical research,” Dr. Simms says. “There are devastating consequences of not treating this disease in this population of patients.”
Professional Associations
Dr. Simms is President of the Texas Chapter of American College of Physicians Services and is a fellow of the organization. In addition, he is a member of the American Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society.
Hobbies and Special Interests
Dr. Simms considers medicine a calling, and not a job. But when he’s not caring for patients, he enjoys weight training, golf, reading and mentoring disadvantaged youth.
Dr. Simms is active in charitable organizations and serves on the board of directors for Hope Through Grace, a non-profit organization that screens uninsured patients for colorectal cancer. He is also active in the Wellness Ministry at Brookhollow Baptist Church.
