Dr. Alfreda Bell is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician practicing at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Houston Center, located in downtown Houston. Dr. Bell was voted one of Houston's "Top Doctors" by H Texas Magazine in September 2004, and one of Houston's "Top Doctors for Kids" by H Texas Magazine in June 2005. She joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in 2002.
Professional Background
Dr. Bell received her undergraduate degree in chemistry, from the University of Texas at Austin. She then matriculated to the Baylor College of Medicine for medical school and The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston for her residency training, where she also served as a chief resident.
Academic and Clinical Position
Dr. Bell worked as a clinical attending physician with the Baylor College of Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Kelsey Seybold-Main Campus, until September 2008. She transitioned to the Kelsey-Seybold Houston Center in September 2008.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Bell’s Clinical interests include women’s health care, public health and policy, and minority health care.
Publications
In addition to a wealth of presentations, both national and local, Dr. Bell wrote “Clinical Commentary: What is the best treatment for gastro esophageal reflux and vomiting in infants?” in The Journal of Family Practice, published in April 2005.
She wrote the award-winning essay “What Three Forces Will Likely Shape the Future of Family Medicine?” which was published and distributed in booklet form by the National Congresses of Family Practice Residents and Students, Kansas City, Missouri.
Dr. Bell has also been featured in Kelsey-Seybold’s Healthy Living magazine.

Hobbies and Special Interests
When she’s not treating her patients, Dr. Bell enjoys volunteering in various organizations. She has served as an American Heart Association-American Stroke Association “Power to End Stroke” Ambassador and also volunteers with the organization’s African-American Outreach Task Force. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
