“Chronic pain is a disease and our team approaches it through a multi-modality approach to help improve patients’ lifestyles and the way they function. I like to provide my patients with ample information about their chronic pain and the different pain management options available to them.”
Ahmed I. Sewielam, M.D. joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Aug. 9, 2004. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Dr. Sewielam cares for his patients at our Main Campus and Fort Bend Diagnostic Center locations.
Professional Background
After earning his medical degree from Cairo University in 1993, Dr. Sewielam went to The University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In 2004, he completed a residency at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in Pain Management. He was chief resident during his training and the recipient of several awards, including the Oliver R. Smith, Jr., MD, Award for Excellence during his residency.
Dr. Sewielam completed an Interventional Pain Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Dr. Seweilam is an assistant professor of medicine in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Baylor College of Medicine.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Sewielam’s clinical interests include interventional pain management and minimally invasive procedures to help pain and function and improve lifestyle. He has been the principal investigator multiple pain management studies and has several research articles and cases studies on Pain Management to his credit.
