HOUSTON (Feb. 15, 2007) —Physicians and medical staff from Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Houston Center recently hosted a lunchtime event at The Shops at Houston Center for those interested in taking better care of their heart. The Heart Health Day event offered visitors an opportunity to learn if their hearts are at risk, through blood pressure and body mass index screenings, ways to reduce their own risks of developing heart disease and understand the value of important health numbers like cholesterol and blood pressure. Considered the “silent killer,” heart disease is the number one killer of women, which is why it’s especially important for women to know what to expect when it comes to nutrition and exercise and ways to reduce their risks. Downtown visitors and employees who missed the recent Heart Health Day event can still check up on their heart health by visiting the Know Your Number wellness station on the Tunnel level under First City Tower. Visitors can check their blood pressure, body mass index, weight and pulse-oxygen level for free. Visitors to the downtown tunnels and The Shops at Houston Center recently had a chance to check up on their heart health during Heart Health Day, hosted by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and Crescent Properties. Several health screenings were offered during the lunchtime event, including vision, blood pressure and body mass index screenings.
