In Memoriam: JOHN ROGER KELSEY, JR., M.D.
May 20, 1922 – July 21, 2010
After moving to Houston in 1953 to care for patients with his brother Dr. Mavis Kelsey, Dr. John Kelsey began a long and illustrious career as Department Chief of Gastroenterology at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. As the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic grew in stature, Dr. John, as he was affectionately known, added to his 34-year tenure the establishment of the Kelsey-Seybold West Clinic in 1978. In 1956, he co-founded the Kelsey Research Foundation. He was a respected colleague, trusted community member, and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic honors his life and extraordinary contributions to the medical community.
