Weigh to Go

Taylor Tuttle (second from left) lost 30 pounds through Kelsey-Seybold’s Weigh to Go program. H-E-B presented Taylor with a gift card in recognition of her achievements at embracing a healthy lifestyle and inspiring others to do the same.

Weigh to Go

Winell Herron, Group Vice President for Public Affairs and Diversity at H-E-B, presents Kelsey-Seybold Clinic patient Taylor Tuttle, 13, with $200 in gift cards in recognition of her achievements at embracing a healthy lifestyle and inspiring others to do the same. With family support and changes in diet and exercise, Taylor, a seventh grader at Holub Middle School in the Alief Independent School District, lost 30 pounds through Kelsey-Seybold’s Weigh to Go program, which provides helpful tips and handouts on weight reduction for kids and parents. Taylor received support from Kelsey-Seybold Pediatrician Susan Sponenberg, M.D., and her mother, Carnella Gray.

In 2005, Carnella took Taylor for her annual check-up with Dr. Sponenberg, who informed Taylor that she was a borderline diabetic and enrolled her in the Weigh to Go program. When asked about her advice to other kids who are overweight, Taylor says, “Just eat healthy and stay fit by exercising – and don’t give up.” Her weight loss story was featured in the Winter 2007 issue of Kelsey-Seybold’s Healthy Living magazine.
