Stipends and Fringe Benefits

Contracts are issued through Baylor College, and the College manages stipend packages. Residents are appointed at stipend levels reflecting their years of prior training creditable toward board certification in their current specialty. These annual stipend amounts which are increased annually for 2009-10 :

Intern Year (5 ½ months): Free parking while on General Surgery at VA, General Surgery at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Ambulatory Pediatrics, Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic ½ (month) and MICU.

Second Year (8-9 months): Free parking while on Dermatology, Urology/GI, Woman’s Health (3 month rotation), Psychology, Geriatrics, Orthopedics and possibly elective. 

Third Year (8-10 months): Free parking while on Sports Medicine, Radiology, Ophthalmology/ENT, Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic, Ambulatory Pediatrics, Neurology, Cardiology, Practice Management/Elective and possibly two electives
