Tricia C. Elliott, M.D., F.A.A.F.P.
Program Director, Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic
Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Elliott is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Elliott has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 2003 and served as Associate Program Director since 2005. After completing a fellowship with the National Institute for Program Director Development, she became Program Director in 2008. Dr. Elliott received her undergraduate degree in Religious Studies from Rice University. She received her medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center Residency Program in Social Medicine in 1999. She previously practiced at Montefiore Medical Center and served as clinical faculty with the Residency Program in Social Medicine through 2002. Dr. Elliott is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians (fellow), Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and Harris County Academy of Family Physicians, Society of Teachers in Family Medicine, Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, and the Medical Group Management Association. In 2005, Dr. Elliott was the recipient of the John R. Kelsey, Jr., M.D. Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching. She is also a recipient of the Daniel C. Leicht, M.D. Award for Social Medicine for Outstanding Achievement. In 2008, she was the recipient of the Baylor College of Medicine Leonard D. Moise Teaching Award and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians (TAFP) Exemplary Teaching Award. Dr. Elliott is the Community Medicine Curriculum Coordinator, which also includes serving as the coordinator, advisor, and participant for the International Health component with an annual medical mission trip to Mexico. Dr. Elliott also coordinates the procedural training curriculum, along with organizing quarterly procedure workshops. Her personal interests include singing/vocal performance, playing violin, cooking, dancing, public speaking, and travel.

   

Nicholas Solomos, M.D.
Associate Program Director, Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program
Managing Physician, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Main Campus, Primary Care

Dr. Solomos is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Solomos has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 1993 and served as Program Director for six years. He is also the Managing Physician for Primary Care at the Main Campus of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, and also serves on the Kelsey-Seybold Board. Dr. Solomos received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University. He received his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School in Houston and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in 1992. Dr. Solomos is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and Harris County Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Solomos has been named a Texas Monthly "Super Doctor" on several occasions. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Leonard D. Moise Teaching Award from the Baylor Family Medicine Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Solomos enjoys sports, playing the drums, and spending time with family and friends.

   

Patrick Carter, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.A.F.P.
Chairman, Department of Family Medicine and Medical Director for Managed Care

Dr. Carter is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Carter has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 1994 and is the Chairman of the Family Medicine Department, as well as Medical Director for Managed Care at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. His specialties include Family Medicine and Geriatrics. He received his undergraduate degree in Honors Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr. Carter is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, and he holds the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine, granted by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is also certified as a Physician Executive by the American College of Physician Executives. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians (Fellow), Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Harris County Academy of Family Physicians (past president), and American College of Physician Executives. In addition to his medical achievements, Dr. Carter has a Master of Business Administration degree from Stanford University. In 2002 and 2003, Dr. Carter was the recipient of the Leonard D. Moise Teaching Award from the Baylor Family Medicine Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine. When Dr. Carter is not working, he enjoys cooking as well as playing the guitar, riding his motorcycle, basketball and golf.

   

Lisa Hauser, M.D.
Clinical Faculty, Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic
Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Hauser is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Hauser has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 1997. Dr. Hauser received her medical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. She completed her internship in Family Medicine at University of Southern California in 1995 and her residency in Family Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, Texas in 1997. Dr. Hauser is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Hauser's special clinical interests include Women's Health and Adolescent Medicine. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three wonderfully active sons.

   

Marilyn Murr, M.D.

Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Murr is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Murr has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 2003. Dr. Murr received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She completed her residency in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology at University of Texas Health Science Center in 1989 and went on to complete a fellowship in Forensic Pathology at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences. Dr. Murr later went on to pursue Family Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in 2003. Dr. Murr is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She enjoys teaching and spending time with her family and friends.

   

Lucia Sandoval, M.D.

Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Sandoval is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Sandoval has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 2002. Dr. Sandoval received her medical degree from University of Colorado Health Sciences College in 1984. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at St. Mary Corwin Hospital in 1987. Dr. Sandoval is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and the Harris County Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Sandoval's special clinical interests include Women's Health. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

   

Michael Shelton, M.D.

Dr. Shelton is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Shelton has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 2002. Dr. Shelton received his medical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, Texas in 1998. Dr. Shelton is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Shelton's special clinical interests include HIV medicine and ambulatory procedures. He enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

   

Anisa Ssengoba-Ubogu, M.D.

Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Ssengoba is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Ssengoba joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in 2008. Dr. Ssengoba received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CASE-SOM) in Cleveland, Ohio in 2001. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Case Western Reserve University-University Hospitals of Cleveland in 2004. Dr. Ssengoba is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is the recipient of several teaching awards including CASE-SOM Edward and Diane White Teaching Award and the 2007 Pfizer Teacher Development Award. Dr. Ssengoba's clinical interests include Women's Health and International Health. She enjoys traveling, African dance, and spending time with her husband, her beautiful daughter, and incredible son.

Courtney Sutherland, M.D., M.B.A.
Clinical Faculty, Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic
Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Sutherland is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.  She went to Loyola University in New Orleans for her undergraduate education, where she majored in Biology with minors in Chemistry and History.  She attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.  Dr. Siems joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic after completing a dual Family Medicine residency and MBA from Baylor College of Medicine Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program and University of Houston Bauer College of Business.  Her interests in Family Medicine include chronic disease management, women’s health and preventive care.  Dr. Sutherland lives in Houston with her husband, although her parents and family are still in St. Louis.  She enjoys hanging out with her dog Wilson, cooking, reading, and traveling.  

 

Isabel T. Garcia, M.D.
Clinical Faculty, Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic
Family Medicine Residency Program

Dr. Garcia is a native Houstonian, who left the city to pursue her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin.  She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed her Family Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program in June, 2009.  She is married to an Emergency Medicine physician in Houston, and is the mother of 3 children.  She is interested in Women's Health and preventive care.  When not working, she enjoys traveling, eating and chasing after her kids.
