Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is proud to announce the winners of the 2005 Healthy Living “Just for Kids” Summer Writing Contest. Keiondra Malone Mouton won for the story she wrote and illustrated, and Jillyan Moor won for her story, “KelseySaurus Rex The Dino and His Friends.”
The contest invited children between the ages of 8 and 14 to write original stories about how KelseySaurus Rex and his friends spent their summer vacation staying active and healthy and aimed to promote health and wellness for kids.
Miss Mouton and Miss Moor were each presented with a $150 gift certificate to Toys R Us and a $100 gift card from Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, which could be used at any Kelsey-Seybold clinic or pharmacy to pay for co-pays or out-of-pocket expenses. The prizes were presented by Dr. Richard Byrd, Chief of Pediatrics, and Dr. Jim Hoyle, Medical Director for Clinical Services.

“It was quite exciting to read so many outstanding entries from kids around the Houston area,” said Dr. Richard Byrd, Chief of Pediatrics, “but these two stories really stood out from the rest. I was impressed by their writing ability and creativity. Their stories convey a positive message to other kids about staying active and healthy.”
