When Dr. Mavis Kelsey, a fifth-generation Texan, returned to Houston in 1949 from the Mayo Clinic, he envisioned the creation of a premier medical group combining family and internal medicine with the highly focused expertise of specialists in all medical fields. Today, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic has more than 250 doctors covering 40 medical specialties and sub-specialties. These doctors choose to practice medicine together in a collaborative group practice rather than in a solo or small group practice.
