Kelsey-Seybold employees and physicians contribute in many ways to the health and welfare of people in the Houston area. Below are some examples of how we are reaching out to the community.

For the second consecutive year, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic served as the title sponsor of the MS Walks. Despite the rain, more than 400 Kelsey-Seybold and St. Luke’s employees participated in the Houston area MS Walks, which were held October 25 and October 26 in various locations around Houston. They raised nearly $10,000 to find a cure for multiple sclerosis, a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that affects 400,000 Americans. Overall, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic proved more than $30,000 in cash and in-kind contributions.
Once again, our KSC Campaign Leaders helped make this years’ United Ways fundraising experience a success. They motivated us and planned creative, practical fundraising activities, which raised $3,574. The Theme Basked Raffle brought in an impressive $5,613. Employee pledges totaled $17,797. Overall, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic raised a total of $31,286. Kelsey-Seybold has once again stepped up to help United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast continue to touch one out of every two lives in the our community. With hard-working campaign leaders, numerous fundraisers and employee meetings, the campaign was not only successful, it was fun!
Team members throughout Kelsey-Seybold participated in the 2003 Houston area “Light the Night” walks, raising more than $22,000 for leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers. Twenty-six teams comprising Kelsey-Seybold team members, family member and friends participated in the walks. This effort will help ongoing research efforts to save lives, as well as improve the quality of lives of patients and families affected by leukemia and lymphoma.
Hundreds of families streamed into the big tents adjacent to the Friendswood H-E-B Grocery story on Saturday, November 8 for Let’s Get Physical, a community health event hosted by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and H-E-B. Our guests participated in health screenings, listened to physician presentations, gathered health literature and received answers to their health questions from Kelsey-Seybold physicians and other medical professionals.
